Our added value approach
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) allows us to assess the likely environmental effects of a project, usually a development project, ensuring that these effects are understood and considered in the granting of consent.

At Temple we believe that EIA should not be viewed as a tick-box exercise or a necessary regulatory hurdle, but a dynamic mechanism to enable broad sustainability principles to be built into the design and ultimately provide confidence to our clients in securing the successful consent for their development project.

Through our personable, dedicated and client-focused teams of specialists, we help our clients realise a development’s potential. In doing so, we develop strong partnerships by understanding their business objectives to help them achieve their goals, whilst also shaping community and environmental improvements. Our experienced environmental consultants are practiced in navigating the sometimes complex and demanding consent process.

Our property and infrastructure teams work with a variety of clients, ranging from private sector property developers, construction contractors, central government departments and agencies, and local government authorities. We are well-versed in working within various consenting regimes, having worked extensively within hybrid Bills, Development Consent Orders, Town and Country Planning Act and Transport and Works Act Orders projects.

We undertake most aspects of environmental consulting services associated with both EIA and non-EIA development at all stages of the development process, including:

  • key areas of early-stage initial feasibility
  • site identification and options appraisal
  • design concepts and evolution
  • pre-consent outline /concept mitigation design
  • post consent construction detailed design
  • on-going monitoring
  • operational support

Our experience ranges from nationally significant large-scale projects and smaller complex, constrained and sensitive sites. Our projects vary from high rise, city centre developments strategic green field sites and largest infrastructure projects in the UK.

We take pride in the work we do by adding value for our clients through a whole lifecycle, solutions-based pragmatic approach, this is where our experience and understanding of the process allows us to add the most value.

Temple is a founding member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment EIA Quality Mark. This, we believe, has helped to demonstrate our leadership and commitment to excellence in our EIA activities, whilst also highlighting the importance of independently verified high standards in EIA.

Our approach to Environmental Assessment

We believe that EIA should not be viewed as a necessary regulatory hurdle, but a dynamic mechanism to enable broad sustainability principles to be built into the design and ultimately provide confidence to our clients in securing the successful consent for their development project.
