Getting the balance right

At Temple we are proud to be environment specialists and know how to provide solutions and we know we can advance sustainability even further. What makes us different is that we are focused on preserving resources, energy and water, and by driving innovation we are creating new skills and jobs and delivering wider social impact for all.

Protecting our environment and securing clean, reliable energy and water supplies are some of the biggest challenges we face as a society today. The pressures of development on the one hand and climate change on the other demand expert consideration at all stages of a scheme.

Our environmental support for clients ranges from strategic advice to the delivery of specific technical services. We have helped set environmental parameters for some of Europe’s largest and most high profile projects and programmes, while also offering a range of survey, monitoring and management services.

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA) and environmental management and consenting are core overarching capabilities and we have extensive experience in applying this to a wide range of consenting regimes, including Development Consent Orders (DCO), Transport and Works Act and the Town and Country Planning Act.

This has led to our teams providing environmental solutions for all sizes and types of scheme, from high profile infrastructure projects, such as High Speed 2 and the Strategic Pipeline Alliance for Anglian Water, to property developments and Development Consent Order (DCO) advice to gas pipeline developers. In all cases, we combine technical excellence in a wide range of disciplines with a clear understanding of client priorities and the desire to reach sustainable outcomes. This means working flexibly alongside the client and where necessary modifying and refining options and approaches as circumstances dictate.

We have a strong sense of ethics and a keen desire to help shape, as well as deliver resilient and sustainable solutions. Whatever the project – from infrastructure development to housing masterplans – we are entirely focused on the needs of our clients, adding value and meeting tight deadlines, however challenging the situation.
