Amy Richards

Principal Ecologist

Amy joined Temple (formerly The Ecology Consultancy) in 2014 as an ecologist and is now a Principal ecologist with over 10 years of experience in ecology and conservation.

Amy has a broad skill set, focussing mainly on protected species, with a specialism in amphibians and reptiles. She holds survey and mitigation licenses for great crested newts. Other protected species work she regularly works with include bats, hazel dormouse, and badgers. Amy manages a broad range of projects at Temple, including coordinating and carrying out pre-development baseline surveys and ecological impact assessments for large housing development across East Sussex, and designing post-planning mitigation, as well as technical reports such as Construction Environment Management Plans and biodiversity method Statements Amy is also involved in internal training at temple, having delivered sessions on great crested newt surveys in 2022 and 2023.

In her spare time, Amy enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time in the great outdoors with friends and family, including her two young children.
