Temple is pleased to announce the appointment of our new Trees and Urban Forestry lead Duncan Smith, further developing the department and service offering to our clients and partners.
Duncan takes a strategic view of the role trees play in the urban and rural environment and seeks out new ways to retain, integrate and plant trees to attain the highest level of benefits. Duncan’s specialist combined knowledge of trees and construction provides a unique understanding of their inter-relationship and challenges the standard approach towards tree retention through development.

Duncan brings a fresh, innovative and inspiring approach, believing arboriculture is more than ‘just trees’. Duncan’s first act as lead was to elevate the name of the department from “Arboriculture” to “Trees and Urban Forestry” to reflect the changing environment we live in.
