We are pleased to announce that Temple, along with WSP, has been appointed by the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom as advisers on specialist engineering, carbon and cost benchmarking.

The appointment through the STARTwo Framework via Steer is a 12-month contract that will see Temple and WSP working in collaboration to provide specialist advice to rail and highways projects sponsored by the DfT. Providing expert advice, we will focus on business case support, strategic planning and appraisal, transport operations and performance, commercial advice for transport and transport infrastructure, and asset advice.

Our collaborative team has a wealth of experience and understanding of engineering carbon principles to advise the DfT Infrastructure Efficiency and Engineering (IEE) team. We look forward to supporting them throughout the process which will include but is not limited to, technical advice on the deliverability of solutions and specific technical matters, identification of technical options for integration projects, and exploring options to deliver the best value.

The UK has a legally binding net-zero target by 2050, to achieve this ambitious target, the UK Government has set out policies and proposals for decarbonising all sectors of the UK economy. We are looking forward to supporting the DfT in realising their ambition to meet future climate goals and be guided by the principles of PAS 2080 which is the foremost industry-wide standard for carbon management, taking climate mitigation measures forward, and making a valuable contribution to zero carbon target in 2050.
