PROJECT OUTLINE
Temple were appointed as EIA specialists for the £270m Stafford Area Improvement Programme and was deemed a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) and required a Development Consent Order. The scheme comprised a new grade separated railway junction on the West Coast Main Line north of Stafford, with associated highway improvements, major gas and oil pipeline diversions, deep cuttings, multiple bridge construction, and watercourse diversions.
Working alongside Network Rail and Atkins, Temple identified some £18m of savings as a result of environment re-design and secured one of the highest CEEQUAL ratings for a major project.
