Local Plan Health Impact Assessment

The planning system occupies a unique position in supporting public health. The role of thriving communities in delivering preventative forms of health care is critical at a time when NHS resources are increasingly stretched. The team provides mentoring for planning policy officers and carries out reviews of emerging local plans to ensure the impact of policy on public health is optimised.

Equalities Impact Assessment

Often through the mechanism of an equalities impact assessment, we ensure policies and initiatives undertaken by the public sector fulfil the public sector equality duty as defined by the Equality Act 2010. This supports clients in meeting their statutory responsibility to eliminate discrimination; advance equality; and foster good relations between those groups habitually prone to discrimination and wider society.

Temple supports clients in understanding that the built environment contributes to the well-being of communities and aligns with sustainable, equitable, and healthy outcomes. As well as the understanding that integrating public health considerations into projects creates long-lasting benefits both for individual well-being and societal progress.
