Tim joined Temple as the Director and Business Unit Lead for Arboriculture. He has a wealth of both private and public sector environmental experience. From an arboricultural perspective, Tim’s specialities lie in Tree Hazard Assessment, highway tree policy, tree strategy and highway law and woodland management.
Some of his recent projects within the sector have included a five year woodland management plan with the primary remit of maintain the land as an asset that holds flood water whilst seeking to improve biodiversity and connectivity in the area. BS5837 surveys in a number of sewage treatment works and site audits and assessments on the utility network in the Solent area to ensure best practice and safety standards were being adhered too.
Tim is an accomplished team leader, with the majority of his working life to date having been at Oxfordshire County Council, where he managed several professional highway disciplines including setting up an Arborioculture Service and then managing the teams that delivered: Highway Asset Management, Street Lighting, Traffic Signals, Structures, Drainage and Road Safety. This experience has given Tim a real advantage when it comes to understanding complex projects and how specialist teams need to interact with each other to produce a balanced outcome.
Prior to his current professional career, Tim has a very interesting past where he spent time organising overland trips to the Sahara Dessert, he ran a very well known south London night club and he was an international DJ. You can still find Tim playing the odd gig at festivals across the country and if you are luck enough to be going to the F1 British Grand Prix at keep your ears peeled as Tim is a regular DJ at the event.
Tim is passionate about the environment, and he is very interested in the strategic opportunity to link development sites with the soft estate on the highway and rail networks to create green corridors whilst preserving road safety and helping to improve biodiversity.
Tim’s other interests include his young family, sailing, skiing, classic British cars and his two rescue donkeys (Honkey & Fifi).
