Mark Furlonger

Senior Director - Planning & Design

Mark is a Senior Director in the Planning Team. He has over 24 years’ experience in development planning, having worked in consultancy, central and local government. Mark joined Temple in 2013 and is principally responsible for Town Planning and Design. He has considerable experience in leading and managing complex planning applications for the private sector. He has also led master planning work and policy and consultancy projects for local authorities and government bodies.

Mark has led major schemes within Central London including the redevelopment of NHS sites, new Stations for TfL and other housing and mixed use schemes. Mark also leads major housing and mixed use schemes, as well as major infrastructure schemes in the water industry and flood defence.

He has led and managed work for central government on improvements to the planning system, plan policy making, the performance measurement of local authorities and their funding and on the Planning Practice Guidance . He has also worked as a planning officer delivering major mixed-use regeneration and infrastructure proposals.

Mark holds a degree in Town Planning and a post graduate Diploma in planning and urban design.

Outside of the office, when he’s not spending time with his family, Mark tries to stay fit by doing athletics – with a particular interest in running. Mark is part of our team that goes out to MIPIM in Cannes.
