Osborne Clarke are a leading UK law firm; their London office is located at One London Wall and covers three floors of the building. As a result of their refurbishment of their London office, Osborne Clarke approached Temple to provide input on the architectural acoustics performance of the proposals having worked with Director Nigel Burton on a previous commission. The spaces included client meeting rooms, where high levels of speech privacy were required due to the sensitive nature of content discussed, as well as large seminar spaces. In addition, the approach to open-plan office areas was being revised to include a greater number of meeting rooms, study and telephone booths.
Based on an acoustic benchmarking exercise, Temple was able to review the architectural proposals for partitions, doors and moveable walls. Temple advised on the likely levels of speech privacy that would be achieved between spaces in comparison with the performance of the existing facilities. Temple also provided advice on the acoustic performance of room finishes, such as suspended ceilings and wall panels, to aid speech communication.
On completion of the refurbishment works, Temple undertook acoustic commissioning testing to confirm how the finished spaces were performing against the specifications and provided comment on any snagging issues from an acoustic perspective.
Temple took the time to understand what would work for Osborne Clarke and then we advised on how their requirements could be delivered.
The services provided by Temple included, Acoustic performance specifications. Advice on the acoustic performance of separating elements and room finishes and Acoustic testing on completion.
