Temple involved in Rail Week 2016

Rail Week is a pioneering initiative, spearheaded by Young Rail Professionals, that has been developed to bring the rail industry in all of its guises closer to young people, both those still at school and those at the start of their careers. The broad range of events hosted as part of the week-long festival will draw attention to the diverse and rewarding career opportunities that the sector offers; we’re proud to be contributing to the event’s ambitions from an environmental perspective.

As part of Rail Week, Rhian Locke (Principal Consultant) will be hosting an event entitled ‘sustainable lessons from major infrastructure’. The event will run through why sustainability is important and what sustainability looks like on major projects. Over the past few years there’s been impressive sustainability successes for major infrastructure projects in the UK, which are now being passed onto the next wave of projects. The workshop will also cover what the next steps are for sustainable infrastructure.

Finally, the event will bring the discussion back to one of the key issues facing the industry and ask: how is the skills gap going to be addressed? Asking the audience what they think the solution is.

Date / Time: Thursday 30 June, 12.00 – 13.30.
