Tamzin Davis

Principal Consultant - Ecology

Tamzin started working for Temple (formerly The Ecology Consultancy) in 2011 as an Assistant Ecologist. After managing nature reserves in the south-east for six years, her initial work focused on surveying protected species for the M25 expansion. Tamzin has since worked extensively within the infrastructure and housing sectors on small to large-scale projects. Such as Cross Rail, DP World, Woodberry Wetlands and TfL’s East London Line.

Tamzin’s current role as a Senior Ecologist covers a breadth of work. Such as, Phase 1 habitat surveys, writing site management plans, BREEAMs and CfSH’s, with an emphasis on advising clients on enhancements for biodiversity and delivering site management plans.  Over the last seven years, bird survey and identification has become  her focus. Including Schedule 1 protected species surveys and extensive breeding bird surveys all over the south east. Tamzin is currently the main contact for ornithological enquiries in our London office.

In 2017 she assisted in the creation and implementation of the School Ecology Workshops. A company initiative, working closely with developers to deliver ecology related workshops to schools for Key Stages 2 and 3. In addition, Tamzin regularly give talks and take part in workshops as part of STEM week, with a focus on encouraging women in to the field of ecology.

Tamzin spends any free time walking in beautiful parts of the UK countryside including Suffolk, the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Wight often with family, friends and dog in tow. Eating out is an expensive but much enjoyed ‘hobby’ – especially in East London where a new restaurant/cocktail bar seems to open every week! She is also very passionate about music, dance and performance in general.
