Sarah Ive

Principal Ecologist

Sarah joined Temple in spring 2021 as a Principal Ecological Consultant in the London Ecology team. She has experience working on a wide variety of highway, rail, housing, and utility projects, with her favourite to work on being large linear infrastructure projects.

Sarah has worked on several notable projects including as Environmental Statement author for Ecology on HS2 Phase 2b, hazel dormouse and badger species lead for Strategic Pipeline Alliance and badger lead on A5 Western Transport Corridor.

Sarah leads large-scale Ecological Impact Assessment projects, working with staff across the national team and working across different disciplines and consultancy companies. She enjoys providing training for staff internally, as well as for clients and external organisations.

Although she specialises in hazel dormice and badger, she has worked on a wide range of different taxa, including surveying for Irish hare and pine marten.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys a wide range of hobbies ranging from hand embroidery to taxidermy. She also enjoys gardening and hiking in the mountains. At home she has two rescue cats, one of which has three legs, and the other has a crooked walk due to poor hips.
