Rosie McLaughlin

Principal Ecologist

Rosie joined Temple in 2020 as Principal Ecologist and has over eight years’ experience in consultancy. During her time as an ecologist, Rosie has gained experience in a range of protected species on a variety of developments including rail (HS2), road (Highways England), airport (Gatwick Airport), commercial, and residential projects.

Rosie specialises in bat work and holds a Natural England Class licence for bats (Level 4) and a Natural Resources Wales bat licence. She has developed a strong understanding of and experience in designing, coordinating and leading detailed bat trapping and radio-tracking studies for some of the UK’s rarest bat populations for large scale infrastructure projects.

Prior to working at Temple, Rosie worked for Atkins, and Temple’s sister companies Arbeco and The Ecology Consultancy where she developed her knowledge and application of wildlife legislation, best practice guidelines and licensing. Her experience over the years has allowed her to become a skilled project manager with an understanding of the planning process and the needs of clients.
