Robert Slatcher

Director - Environment

Robert is a Director in our Major Projects Business Unit. Robert joined Temple in 2011 and achieved chartered status in 2014. He is currently Temple’s Project Manager for our HS2 Phase 2b contract as well as acting in an environmental interface management role on the project. Robert has also undertaken similar environmental management roles on the HS2 Phase 1 EIA and Phase 2 Appraisal of Sustainability, including long-term secondments into HS2.

Robert has a wide range of experience delivering environmental and sustainability work through all stages of a project lifecycle from optioneering, to consenting and construction. He has worked across a range of sectors including; rail, highways, property, flood defence, energy and nuclear. He has written several published articles and advised the DfT on embedding sustainability into major infrastructure projects. Robert has also lectured to engineering students for several years at University College London.

Robert has acted as the environmental lead for two successful Development Consent Orders; including the Ipswich Chord DCO- the first scheme consented under the Infrastructure Planning Act.

Outside work Robert enjoys playing football and cycling up the steepest hills the Yorkshire Dales have to offer.
