Rebecca Bailey

Associate Director - Ecology

Becky joined Temple in 2018 as a Principal Ecologist and has been involved in a wide variety of projects, most recently focussed on post-consents and EPSM licencing. Becky acts as Project Manager and Project Director on a huge variety of projects from small building conversions to large road improvement works, such as Herne Relief Road (Bullockstone Road Improvements).

Becky is a Lead Accredited Agent for great crested newts on the HS2 Organisational Licence, overseeing multiple translocations and impact areas as well as being the white-clawed crayfish Species Lead for aspects of Phase 1 North.

Before joining Temple, Becky was a Highways specialist, transferring into Ecology from the Transportation team and managing the ecological impacts on Highways schemes, from small scale junction realignments and structural improvements for Leeds City Council, through large scale new roads including the A59 Kex Gill Diversion for North Yorkshire Council, and Smart Motorways schemes for Highways England including the M1 Js28-35a.

In her spare time, Becky sits on the committees for Yorkshire Naturalists Union, the Wakefield Peregrine Project and Kippax Incredible Edible. She’s a keen bird ringer and has a season ticket at an unspecified Premier League football team!
