Marc is a Director of Ecology with 20 years of experience in ecological consultancy with a focus on protected species survey and mitigation, Ecological Impact Assessments and consultee engagement.
Marc recently led the Ecology Team for an 80km stretch of HS2, coordinating ecological assessments and advising engineers and wider disciplines on appropriate designs to meet consenting requirements and minimise ecological impacts. More widely his experience includes the management of surveys and assessments to advise on the siting of, and mitigation of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, Urban Expansion projects, renewable energy schemes and large mixed-use developments.
Marc has also delivered a range of strategic studies for Government bodies and NGOs including local to regional planning authorities, Environment Groups, National Highways, Homes England and utilities suppliers. His work includes county council representations, policy development, National Biodiversity Action Plans, and Green Infrastructure Strategies. Through stakeholder engagement, workshops and advocacy documents, his work has contributed to Local Plans, Regional Strategies, Community Forests and greenspace planning across several English regions.
Marc is also an experienced field surveyor. He holds Natural England Licenses to work with bats and great crested newts and is adept in wider protected species survey techniques, guidelines and legislation.
