David Williams

Director – Planning & Design

David is a Director in the Planning Team and is a Chartered Town Planner with over 20 years of experience. His experience is broad, with knowledge gained working on all manner of planning and development projects within a small independent planning consultancy, large multidisciplinary real estate firms, a local planning authority, and a non-departmental public body.

As a result, David has significant understanding and expertise in the complex workings, procedures and requirements of the planning process and is, therefore, able to provide tailored consultancy advice to clients in successfully navigating the complexities of the planning process. David has strong working relationships with local authorities, architects, and other consultants which ensures projects are effectively led and managed to deliver success.

David has a varied and interesting client base drawn widely from the commercial, residential, leisure and education sectors. David has notable experience in hotel development, having secured substantial hotel development in London for various operators. His projects often included adapting listed heritage buildings for which he has a particular interest.

Career highlights include the Stirling Prize winning Zaha Hadid designed Evelyn Grace Academy and advising and introducing a new planning system to the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of a secondment in the Middle East.

David holds a Masters in Town Planning and a Bachelor of Science degree in The Rural Environment.

Outside the office, when he’s not spending time with his family (primarily providing a taxi service to teenage daughters!), David enjoys walking his dog, Concept II rowing, and watching rugby now that his playing days are long over.
