Claire Dewson

Principal Ecologist

Claire joined Temple in 2021 as Principal Ecologist and has managed and coordinated the ecological elements of a wide range of complex developments, including HRA Stage 1 and 2, major residential developments as well as reviewing strategic approaches to Biodiversity Net Gain for Local Planning Authorities. Claire has a good understanding of the development management and strategic planning process and can devise high quality pragmatic solutions.

Prior to working at Temple, Claire worked for over 20 years in local government in countryside management and as an ecologist, where she ran an ecology team covering development control, planning policy and project delivery. She also specialised in Habitats Regulations Assessment, developing and justifying wildlife corridor networks as well as developing criteria for the designation of local wildlife sites.

Outside the office Claire volunteers with her local bat and amphibian and reptile groups. She also enjoys running, walking and spending time with her family and friends.
