Tom Smeeton

Tom joined Temple in January 2012 as a Principal Consultant. He is now a Senior Director, leading the EIA HS2 team. He is responsible for the ETM’s HS2 Country South EIA Petition and Select Committee Support Team as the hybrid Bill progresses through the House of Commons. His responsibilities also included managing the design input and integrating mitigation within the scheme design. Tom has also been managing projects for TfL.

Prior to joining Temple, Tom worked for Mouchel and Mott MacDonald amongst other practices. His other notable project experience includes, A5 WTC, Nottingham Express Tram, Manchester Metrolink, Croxley Rail Link amongst others. He is a Chartered Environmentalist and Geologist and is a Full Member of IEMA.

Outside of the office Tom is a father of four, he is a keen hiker and cyclist. Tom now enjoys watching and following Ruby Union having hung up his boots several years ago.

He is actively involved with the IEMA and is a CEnv and MIEMA membership assessor and an official mentor. Tom sat on the review panel for IEMA’s recent Guidance document Shaping Quality Design.
