Mark Skelton

CEO

A passionate environmentalist with an innately strong sense of social justice,  Mark is a highly experienced and commercially minded ethical leader, project director and consultant, he has worked for a variety of organisations on some of the UK’s highest profile and complex infrastructure, development and regeneration projects.

Mark joined Temple in 2013 as a Board Director, as well as leading on innovation and overseeing the delivery of the Group’s portfolio of client projects, he was responsible for growing and diversifying the business’ client value propositions, collaborative partnerships, sector presence and service offerings. In 2020 he took on the new role of Managing Director for the enlarged one Temple business comprising the Ecology Consultancy, Arbeco and the Temple Group – and he is immensely proud of everything this remarkable team of individuals have already achieved in making a meaningful environmental and social difference, to accelerate the realisation of our vision to create sustainable futures for all.

With diverse experience across most sectors, Mark leads multidisciplinary design, assessment and management teams; as well as undertaking more specialised strategy consulting, business transformation and research focused commissions. With a particular expertise in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and the preparation and review of Environmental Statements (ESs), Mark focuses on developing assessment and implementation strategies that realise the highest level of client benefit (by delivering robust, viable and consentable development) at the same time as maximising the benefits to society and minimising impacts on the environment.

Projects Mark has worked on include: Barking Riverside, Meridian Water, the Garden Bridge, the Northern Line Extension, Chelsea Barracks, Brent Cross Cricklewood, Thames Tideway Tunnel, Crossrail, London Powerlines Undergrounding, Purfleet Centre Regeneration, Aldershot Urban Extension, Blackwall Reach, Dibden Terminal Container Port and the London 2012 Olympics and Legacy.

Prior to joining Temple, Mark worked for Capita Property & Infrastructure for over 12 years, where he led their planning, environment and design team.

When not working, Mark likes walking, cycling and sailing, preferably in far-flung places.
