Alice McLean

Alice is a Principal Air Quality Consultant with over 16 years of experience in the Public and Private Sector (11 in Consultancy and five in the Public Sector).

She has a strong background in Local Air Quality Management, Permitting and Regulation of Emissions to Atmosphere from Industrial Installations, having worked for three different Local Authorities (Peterborough, Wigan and Salford) prior to becoming an Air Quality Consultant.

Alice has subsequently assisted a number of Local Authorities with their air quality review and assessment obligations and provides technical air quality support to Local Authorities in relation to planning applications.  In the Private Sector Alice has worked on a wide range of urban development, industrial, and infrastructure (road, rail and renewable) projects both in the U.K and overseas (with field trips to the Middle East, Africa and Ireland).  She has also managed air quality monitoring programmes.

Alice has in depth knowledge and experience of using air quality guidance published by the Institute of Air Quality Management (Construction Dust, Mineral Dust, Odour and Air Quality Planning), Highways England (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Interim Guidance Notes), the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Local Air Quality Management), and the Environment Agency (Risk Assessments for Environmental Permits). She is also an experienced user of air quality dispersion modelling software including ADMS Roads and ADMS 5.2.
