After managing nature reserves in the south-east for six years, I started working for Temple (The Ecology Consultancy) in 2011 as an Assistant Ecologist, surveying protected species for the M25 expansion and have since worked extensively within the infrastructure and housing sectors on small to large-scale projects including Cross Rail, DP World, Woodberry Wetlands and TfL’s East London Line.

Much of my current work as a Senior Ecologist covers a breadth of work from Phase 1 habitat surveys, writing site management plans, BREEAMs and CfSH’s, to a focus on bird identification and survey including wintering and breeding birds as well as specific Schedule 1 protected species surveys. My particular strength is client liaison coupled with an ability to manage diverse project types. In 2017 I assisted in the creation and implementation of the School Ecology Workshops, a new company initiative, working closely with developers to deliver ecology related workshops to schools for Key Stages 2 and 3. I regularly give talks and take part in workshops as part of STEM week, with a focus on encouraging women in to the field of ecology.
