Temple joins London First

Temple is pleased to announce that we are now officially members of London First. London First is an organisation we’ve been aware of for some time, having followed the various events and campaigns they run with keen interest.

They were first established in 1992 to meet a perceived lack of a unitary body to promote London after the dissolution of the Greater London Council. Their members include the GLA, a range of London Boroughs, TfL, DfT, HS2, Network Rail, among many others.

Some of the campaigns they’ve run can be seen below:

  • Fifty Thousand Homes – London First initiated this business-led campaign to double house building in London to at least 50,000 homes a year by the end of the next Mayoralty in 2020. The campaign was set up with the support of CBI London, FSB London, Shelter and others.
  • Crossrail 2 letter – they organised a letter, published in The Times, calling for George Osborne to back Crossrail 2 in his upcoming Comprehensive Spending Review.

We are looking forward to attending London First events, getting involved in campaigns, as well as a host of other initiatives this unique organisation organise.
