About Temple Regeneration (T005)

Overview

Temple has a substantial record of achievement in environmental and planning matters for many prestigious developments and clients, including regeneration agencies. We have also established portfolio of brownfield remediation work and transport projects.  We are building on this base to engage more in the delivery of sustainable urban regeneration.

A practical, ethical and sustainable focus is central to our approach.  The depth and range of environmental and planning experience together with our innovative culture means we are able to bring a fresh perspective to the challenging regeneration agenda, and to engage with a wide range of clients and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

We see this as a process that operates on three fundamental levels:

economy – urban regeneration supports the economic competitiveness of cities and towns, e.g. through enabling job creation and retention;

equality – urban regeneration promotes social inclusion and improves the quality of life for all citizens, e.g. by targeting deprived neighbourhoods and groups in particular through community based neighbourhood regeneration to improve the quality of life; and

environment – urban regeneration minimises the adverse environmental impact of cities and towns, e.g. by maximising the re-use of urban land, recycling neighbourhoods, promoting public transport, energy efficiency and effective waste management, and conserving and enhancing the built and natural environment.

We believe the best model to successful regeneration is a partnership-led approach that involves public, private, voluntary and community sectors.

Services

A range of consultancy, research and training services are provided in four inter-related areas

Policy and Strategy

• Formulating responses for local, sub-regional and regional bodies to recent government and European policy consultation;
• Policy evaluation of regeneration and planning frameworks and strategies for neighbourhoods, cities and regions and
• Creative ‘think-piece’ style analytical papers on cross-cutting topical issues in urban regeneration and sustainable development.

Economic Regeneration

• Development and implementation of strategic policy frameworks;
• Preparation of economic development strategies, such as Local Economic Growth Initiatives and Business support programmes and
• Infrastructure cost/benefit analysis for projects such as transport schemes, schools and health facilities.

Physical and Environmental Regeneration

• Project management and project delivery services for major projects and programmes;
• Brownfield land investigation and remediation;
• Funding, evaluation and appraisal services;
• Formulating and supporting bid applications for regeneration projects and
• Assessment of environmental impacts of regeneration proposals.

Community Regeneration

• Neighbourhood regeneration plans and strategies;
• Neighbourhood Management Plans for service-delivery bodies and partnerships;
• Community profiling and needs assessment;
• Community consultation and involvement strategies and
• Community asset management and ownership development support services.
