Jenny Massingham

Technical Director - Planning

Jenny joined Temple in January 2018 and is a Technical Director in the Planning team. With over 12 years’ planning and environmental experience working both client and consultancy side, she is both an experienced town planner and project manager.

Jenny has been involved in managing the design, planning and environmental work for a variety of large scale infrastructure projects throughout the UK with a particular focus on water, energy and mineral developments.

Jenny specialises in dealing with complex projects that often have a number of engineering, planning, environmental or technical issues to overcome. Jenny is currently working as Planning Lead on the River Thames Scheme, a major flood alleviation proposal for the EA spanning six different planning authorities across Surrey and west London. Jenny enjoys solving technical problems and promotes collaborative working and proactive engagement whilst also front loading the formation of strategies and risk identification to ensure efficient project management. Other example projects that Jenny has worked on include a mixed-use regeneration scheme for 1,650 homes in Suffolk, an 11km pipeline and gas processing facility in North Yorkshire, and a new secondary school and 6th form college in Staffordshire.

Jenny is a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI), an Associate Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (AMICE) and an Associate Member of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB).

Prior to joining Temple Jenny worked as an Associate Planner for planning and architecture practice, Barton Willmore in their London and Cambridge offices, where she was responsible for developing their client base in energy and infrastructure projects. Jenny has also worked client side for a number of infrastructure providers in London and the South East.

Outside of work, Jenny enjoys running and taking her young daughter for days out exploring in the city or countryside. She also has a keen interest in photography and writes a blog on historic London architecture which you can follow on Instagram @libraryoflondonarchitecture.
