Services provided
Provision of detailed noise measurements and reporting to demonstrate that night time operations at an aggregate unloading area complies with planning conditions.
Temple provided noise-monitoring services in order to determine whether noise from the plant was perceptible at the closest residential properties. Attended night time measurements were taken on site and outside the boundary to the site. Unattended measurements were also taken at nearby sensitive residential locations. An assessment was made as to whether the noise from the site adversely affects nearby dwellings. Temple supplied a detailed noise report suitable for application to Slough Borough Council in support of the planning conditions.
Benefits
Temple was able to demonstrate that the planning condition was meaningless and that Foster Yeoman could not comply with the condition of any operational scenario, unless the adjoining M25 and M4 were both closed. As a direct result of Temple’s work, Slough Borough Council determined that there would no longer be a requirement for regular six-monthly noise monitoring, thus saving Foster Yeoman money.
