Temple carried out a detailed light impact assessment of a flood lit soccer centre. Detailed light measurements were taken to determine background lighting levels in the river corridor. This data was then utilised to assist predictions of the existing illuminance levels at the River Ching for comparison against predicted lighting data using information from the proposed floodlighting manufacturers. A report was produced summarising the predictions with an assessment against UK guideline levels in order to demonstrate the acceptability of the sports lighting on the flora and fauna of the river corridor.
Benefits
Temple provided a valuable specialist service to the developers, enabling them to demonstrate to the Local Planning Authority the acceptability of the proposal in terms of light pollution and its effect.
