Services Provided
SEA / Strategic Guidance / Consultation support / Scoping and Feasibility Studies / Baseline studies
Temple personnel were part of the EMC Project Management Unit that advised Railtrack. We helped develop an EIA Manual and Environmental Design Manual (EDM) including environmental design aims to assist the Programme Management Team (ProMT) and the design team. We screened schemes regarding appropriate approval mechanism i.e. TWA, Planning Approval or Permitted Development Rights and supported ProMT on consultation matters and attended meetings with LAs and CGBs. We carried out a review of environmental and associated planning risks and developed a risk register.
We were involved in scoping and feasibility studies for 7 schemes and baseline environmental studies on these and acted as a technical reviewer. We were also responsible for specific technical elements including noise and vibration, socio-economics, community, strategic planning and policy. Part of the strategic planning and policy work included an SEA. This was commissioned by the SRA and was used as a basis to inform the scheme development on a regional level. Benefits
Our ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and Network Rail ensured that we were able to advise the project team about best practice measures for rail related projects and ensured that we were able to meet the challenging programme for the environmental deliverables in a timely fashion.
