Services provided
Temple provided specialist advice regarding measurement and prediction of aircraft noise in connection with a planning application for nearby residential and leisure development.
Temple, working with Rushmoor BC, provided specialist advice on a noise assessment provided by the developers’ consultants for proposed residential and leisure developments within a few hundred metres of Farnborough Airport. Temple was also instructed to assess the proposed noise modelling methodology for predicting current and future levels of aircraft noise across the locality.
This work assisted Rushmoor, by ensuring that the Council would receive suitable noise data to enable a thorough PPG24 planning assessment of the proposal.
Benefits
Temple presented a valuable specialist service to the Council in consideration of aircraft noise measurement and modelling; aircraft noise is not an area of noise assessment in which most local authorities have experience or a staff resource. Temple also provided the Council with an expert interface with the applicant.
