Services provided
Temple provided a detailed assessment of the air quality for a proposed care home development site at the Tally Ho Public House, West End Road, South Ruislip. The study was carried out in order to determine any air quality implications affecting the development, so that they can be considered as part of the planning application.
Temple carried out detailed predictions to determine the baseline air pollutant concentrations at the site and to determine air pollutant concentrations for the opening year of the development. An assessment was carried out using the air pollutant predictions, published locally measured air quality data and the Local Authority Review and Assessments of Air Quality, in order to determine constraints on the site development. Comparisons were made to the National Air Quality Objectives and taking account of the sites location within an existing Air Quality Management Area.
Based on these findings, Temple was able to assess the likely impacts of this development on local air quality and assess its significance in enabling the Local Authority in achieving the National Air Quality Objectives.
Benefits
Temple presented a valuable specialist service to the Architects, enabling them to prove the acceptability of the proposal in terms of air quality. Temple also gave the Client a point of contact between themselves and the Council on air quality issues such that this issue was removed as the main reason for refusing the planning application.
