Services provided
Temple provided an assessment of the effects on air quality of a proposed distributor road, for inclusion in an Environmental Statement. The road forms a major part of the prestigious and unique Poundbury development on the edge of Dorchester, inspired by the Prince of Wales. The contract was to provide an assessment of both local and regional air quality impacts due to the use of the new road.
Temple carried out predictions to determine the baseline air pollutant concentrations at sensitive receptors along the route of the proposed road and predictions to determine future air pollutant concentrations for the road development. Comparisons were made to the National Air Quality Objectives and an assessment was made using these predictions to determine whether these Objectives are likely to be achieved with the new road in place and to assess the significance of the air quality impacts of the new road on existing residents in the area.
Benefits
Temple presented a professional and detailed service to the client in the area of transportation air quality issues in order to inform the Environmental Statement.
